Autism Awareness fundraising

This month (April 2013) CafePress is donating 10% of proceeds to two autism awareness and aid organizations to help them raise funds for autism education and research.

When we started, we couldn't even imagine that we would sell 400 license plate replicas. And all this in under a year!? We're honored, really, we are! Thank you!

Interesting facts:

• One customer bought 75 plates, and all plates were exactly the same. He spent more than $1000 on that order. This was our largest order!
• We have customers all over the world! Of course, most of our plates are sold in the USA, but we had customers from Canada, Mexico, Australia, UK, Norway, Sweden, Japan, New Zeland, Germany... and more!
• We've had only 7 plates returned. We really don't know why, but our customers can always return the plates in 30 days. That's guaranteed!
• Customers from the US rarely buy the plates of the state they live in.
• We never know what our customers write on their plates or key chains.
• We can customize a plate for our customers (change a font, change colors, etc...).
• The first plate we created was Texas - Lone Star Black.
• We love you! :)

First in Flight - North Carolina license plate replica

Well, this NC plate gave us some headache, that's for sure. First, it took enormous amount of time to draw (just look at the grass at the bottom). Second, we had to sacrifice some of the bottom "North Carolina" lettering, since CafePress license plate template has wide mounting holes. Well, the plate is here, and we hope you like it.

MA - The Spirit of America

Massachusetts license plates are really simple - red and blue lettering on a white background. It's one of those classic license plate designs where less is more. And, the cool slogan is a nice touch, as well.

It's been a while...

It's been a while since our last blog post. Sorry about that. Well, we have some news, so stay tuned. We'll post them in the next couple of days.

Trouble in Wyoming

We made a nice Wyoming centennial design. Unfortunately, a few days after we published it in our CafePress store, we got an email saying that we broke some copyright laws.

It looks like  The Bucking Horse and Rider (BH&R) is a registered trademark of the State of Wyoming. That means we can't sell any plates with it.

We made a honest mistake thinking that, like all license plates, Wyoming plate falls in the royalty free category.

We are researching options on using the BH&R legally.

So, until then, here's a small image of the plate we wanted to publish:
